Product Details and Information
Quality Products Require Quality Materials And Quality Workmanship
The style and finish of the furniture we sell is very important. But
equally, or even more important, is what the cast aluminum furniture is
made of, and how it is manufactured. And since this product will spend most
of its life outdoors exposed to the elements, you need to have assurance
that it will maintain its beauty and strength.
It is not possible to make quality casting, meant to last a lifetime, using
inferior metal. With over 30 years of experience manufacturing cast
aluminum furniture, our supplier only uses certified aluminum manufactured
to the highest and most consistent standards (British Standard LM-6).
Aluminum is an extremely versatile material, but 100% pure aluminum is a
soft metal. Therefore, to give it the two important properties required for
outdoor furniture, namely strength and corrosion resistance, certain metals
and minerals are added to the aluminum to form the desired alloy. Likewise,
too much of certain metals in the alloy have the opposite effect, making the
product brittle and susceptible to corrosion. That's why our supplier
specifies that the aluminum alloy not contain more than 0.5% Iron, as
higher levels make the parts brittle. They also specify that the aluminum
contain no more than 0.1% Copper, as higher levels drastically reduce
the corrosion resistance of the metal, and ultimately the furniture.
From tests they have conducted on similar looking cast products produced in
the Far East, they have found that these products contain between 3 and 20
times the levels believed to be acceptable to produce a quality product that
will last.
With the unique products and processes, and dedicated employees, our
manufacturer has grown to one of the major manufacturers and suppliers to
the casual furniture industry. Continuous attention is given to all aspects
of the development, management and operation of the day-to-day business.
This control enables us to ensure that every piece of furniture conforms to
the same consistent high standards and quality. All of the furniture is
assembled, welded, pre-treated, powder coated and finished in the factory in
North Carolina.
